DRF Begins Construction of Middle School

On Saturday, April 26th 2008, the Development and Relief Foundation began the construction of the Imam Jafar Assadiq Middle School for orphans, which is a continuation of the Imam Jafar Assadiq Elementary School for Orphans, on the second floor of the school building.

The middle school is designed to hold grades 7th to 9th, according to the Iraqi Education Ministry laws. The school will teach regular academic curriculum in addition to classes on ethics, religion, and Koran and a session of prayers (salat).  Examination for applying students will be conducted this summer. Students will be chosen based on their academic work. However, all students chosen must be orphans from unprivileged backgrounds.

The second floor of the building will include one main auditorium, a kitchen and cafeteria, one science laboratory, one library, 2 offices for teachers, and 11 classrooms.
